Interesting catch. . .could be a hint? Reading the overview of the 06 Z06 i fount that it reads "Puts 500hp/475lb.-ft. of torque on the pavement."

MAYBE. In another thread, someone mentioned that they saw the new Z06 run the quarter mile, and the trap speed was something like 124... I know of a *****-out H/C car that made ~490-ish at the wheels that trapped at 126 in pretty good air. So if the C6 Z06 runs were in average air, I could see a trap speed closer to (or a little over) 126... which would indicate close to 500 RWHP.

also, remember, the have terrible drivers typically driving for mags, that and they have little experience with the particular vehicle. that H/C car probably has a driver that is very experienced with his car.
There was a big Corvette gathering here in Bowling Green and there were 2 Z06 cars on display. On Saturday, one was taken to Beech Bend and some passes were made with a passanger. Do a search, there is a video clip floating around.

verbs- I had forgotten about the headwind... I have a vid of the pass in question (don't want to rekindle any old flame wars, so I'm not naming names), and it looked like he hooked pretty good coming out of the hole... nonetheless, the headwind is certainly an important factor.
