3 valve heads?
What happened with the 3v heads that were originally supposed to go on this car? At first I remember hearing a long time ago that they would be on all the Gen IV engines, and then later on it was said they would at least be on the ls7s. I remember seeing pictures of them as well. What happened to the R&D behind these heads, and why weren't they used? Anyone have any links to any pictures or articles on the heads?
I would they would make a great head if the aftermarket got a hold of the design, and there weren't any problems with them that I am not aware of. They should just bolt up to any lsX engine as well, at least if I am remembering correct, because the bolt patterns were the same, and the two intake valves were only controlled with one pushrod.

j/k. It really is hard to beat a big port 2v design for a big cube engine, and keep it 1) small / compact, 2) cost effective, 3) simple to work on 4) interchangable parts. That being said, the big big big cube engines that you'd find on WWII Fighter Aircraft engines (well, the V-12 and v-16 stuff, not those wicked cool and hard to understand radial engines like the P&W 2800) used DOHC deisgns. But when you have cylinders the size of the econo size coffee cans, a huge centrifical supercharger, and the need to pack as much air in @ alt. as possible (46,000 feet sometimes) you need all the valve area that you can get. Then again, I'm sure I don't need to tell Fulton 1 this, if the name implies what I think it does
