Default Blue devil lives !

Yes, it may be true after all, here is an excerpt:

"...Eyewitnesses said the car sounds supercharged, confirming reports the engine is likely a blown version of the Z06’s 7.0-liter V8, producing upward of 600 hp."

ya i had it on ls7 earlier too, john is just slow. should be bad ***, problem is they are thinking around 100k for it. i dont think a 100 hp increase over the stock z06 is worth 30k. but it is cool that chevy is making an enzo killer.

.
Can't wait to see this badboy. A price of around 100k isn't really that high either, when you consider what many of the comparable cars cost.

Hopefully this car actually comes to production.

Then theres the whole.. likely has forged pistons thing So theres no telling what the actual shortblock could handle, and on top of that might be cool to buy used blowers for your c6 when the rich folk upgrade theirs... Just a guess. Might also create a nice used injector market, etc. Factory cars coming with better parts is always good, because it helps us poorer folks afford some better parts.

Peace,
Josh

Assuming the compression ratio is the same, 600 hp should be had by running only 3 lbs of boost, now i don't know about you, but if i'm putting on a blower on any car, it will be getting more than 3 lbs of boost, i say stock it should be getting 5 lbs and hp should be at least in the high 600 range.

I almost completely forgot about blue devil. If this happens, might they call it "SS." There was an article in the last Motor Trend mentioning the idea of a Corvette SS that would be in that range.

Think of how much you would save if you just took the stock C6 and did your own stroker using the stock block and add a pro charger. You will have more than 600rwhp and a lot of money left over.

Your missing the point though. It still wont be a ZO6 or the blue devil. And they are thinking it will be around 2900 lbs also. With 5lbs of boost if its supercharged, it will probably be around 600rwhp. I dont know about anyone else but a 600rwhp, 2900 lb car would beat nearly everything there is available(stock to stock). Then ofcourse think of how much power the 03-04 Cobras get from so little money. Pulley, cold air, off-road x-pipe, tuning. do similar things to the blue devil and damn thats a lot of power. Lets review 2900 lbs(guessed), 600 rwhp(also guessed, but very likely), already has bad *** brakes, and gears, all for $100,000. What factory bought car can even compare within $500,000 more dollars or so. All I would say is that i hope they make some more body changes to make it look different from the ZO6 and C6. They did a great job I think on making the ZO6 stand out from the C6.

It would be so sick if they follow through with this. I find it hard to believe that it "only" makes 600 hp with a blower.

Yup, and you definately will still have your stock ride, stock handling, stock idle, right? Wrong. I'm also sure that upgrading everything on the C6 would toss that warranty out the window, along with your emissions compliance. I personally think it is significantly better to have a car that is 600rwhp+ right off the factory floor, then it would be to have a 600rwhp car that is 15g's cheaper, but has none of those things.

I was saying that for 100k it would be equal to, or better, than the $200k+ supercars, which makes it a pretty good value in my book.

This will be the car to beat for sure! They claim "over 600 hp", and people here are saying 600rwhp, if it makes 600 rwhp that puts it at over 700hp which will be phenomenal, there is no production car in the world that will be able to compete with this thing if they make it.

I, too, am wondering if they will badge it with the "SS" badging as everything else this year and still to come has the SS badging - the Cobalt (205hp 2.0l ecotec), Impala SS (303hp 5.3l V-8), Malibu SS (240hp 3.9l V-6), Malibu Maxx SS (240hp 3.9l V-6), Monte Carlo SS (303hp 5.3l V-8), Silverado SS (345-hp H.O. Vortec
6000 V8) , SSR (390-hp LS2 6.0L V8), and the Trailblazer SS (391-hp LS2 6.0L V8). Whew! That's a ton of SS cars!

Anyone else think they are using the "SS" badging to their marketing advantage...or are they over-using it? I think it's great they are on the ball, so to speak, and making some great high-performance vehicles again.
