The intakes look the same.

Mainly because its lighter, and because it more than likley uses all CNC'd parts. I'm sure its good stuff since they use them on those world class vettes.

That helps on the low end yes, but what about on the high end? IT was my understanding that IR intakes had a harder time once the RPMs climbed.

I'm sure they're amazing, I'm just wondering what the difference in FLOW is...they look identical. I don't see how the C5R intake can be a whole lot better if it is at all.

That's the thing about ports. You never know how good one is until you flow it. You can have alot of ports that look the same, but do something completly diffrent. You have to look at the parts that are being used in the Katek intakes. That carbon fiber alone is going to be hella expensive, not to mention molding, cnc custom pieces, fully hand shaped ports, and so on. Tons of time goes into just one of those pieces since they are one off. That's why the price is so high.

Very light (Magnesium & carbon fibre).
Suits C5R heads.
Made for hungry engines.
NOT emmission compliant.
Hurts the wallet.
... and a few hundred extra hours worth of development ...

It would be pretty funny if they flowed the same though. Kind of like the C5R block, it offers zero in extra HP over any other LSx block. Now the C5R heads are basically the same as other heads (LS7 and ETP 265/41's) for 1/3 the price.

I love it when that happens. Makes it better for all of us.

Harrop gave me some info, it was basicaly how much clearance over the valve covers you needed it was something like 55MM or something of the sort. But I think you can call them, and they can fill you in.
