How is that possible when it's listed as LS7 Clutch & Pressure plate kit 24233650 $457.86 ?

For those of you that have more questions that need to be answered, we just had "Bearman" sign up at LS7power.com and is taking questions. He works in Wixom, Michigan at the Performance Build Center building the LS7 engines

Here is his post:
Hello all.

A little background on who I am. I have 28 years with GM, 13 at a factory owned dealership, 13 with GM Truck engeneering and since March, 2005, I have been working in Wixom, Michigan at the Performance Build Center building the LS7 engines.

Spike TV came to our shop in May and did a video shoot. I was selected to do the show. It aired on July 9th & 10th on HORSEPOWER! They videoed for over 6 hours but the show of our shop only ran about 5 minutes...

We also build the 440 HP supercharged Cadillac Northstar engine.

Hope you all have questions, I have most of the answers...

Bearman

$457 must be a list price, Fred bean will let you have it for 5% over cost. I used the same part# when I ordered it.

Mas280 has said he has one and is going to try and fit it on his RX7 Hybrid. I didn't think the parts were released yet. But I would be willing to run down to the local Chevy dealer and compare the LS7 stuff to my stock Z06 (spare) clutch.

Since the C6 has a transaxle we shouldn't be surprised if the LS7 clutch is incompatible with the F-body.

Was the C5 not also built with a transaxle?

I just meant that there would be an opportunity for GM engineers to change the clutch or hydraulics if they so desired.

They alwasys try to keep manufacturing cost down by using as few new parts as possible..the F body and the C5 as well as the C6 Corvette have interchangable clutches...transmissions are the same except the the Vette trans has no tailshaft housing..it is mated up to the rear end instead..I bet that the new LS7 clutch will work on the LS1 LS6..

Looks like the ls7 clutch may work if you buy a ls2/ls7 flywheel

All the transaxle means is a really long input shaft...no bearing on the clutch
