Default LS2 exhaust manifolds vs LS1

Has anyone done any testing yet on the LS2 stock exhaust manifolds?

Since I'm moving to California, I can't (legally) run LTs. Just curious how the LS2 manifolds compare to the older ones. Got a feeling they are all going to choke my 402ci LS2 a bit, but would still like to see some numbers if anyone has tried them.

Might want to look at the GTO headers

I bet you could get a ported set of exhaust runners which would do ok.

hi: Hot Rod did a test on an LS2 crate motor and they put on Z06 manifolds from a 2001 + motor and they gained like 5 more HP also they gained like 8-9 HP buy running a ls6 manifold and smaller trottle body. This was on an engine dyno not a chassis one. the Z06 manifolds seem to flow the best of the stock ones. The GTO manifolds are a tri-y design like the Z06 ones so they should flow pretty good. The outlet is only 2 1/4 inch on them from what I heard. Maybe you could open them up a bit to 2 1/2 or 3 inch. Good luck

I thought the 6.0 truck manifolds were the best OEM?

I have a set of GTO manifolds and LS2 manifolds, and while I don't have flow numbers, the LS2s are much bigger and lighter. I measure the opening on the GTO manifolds at 2.0" and the LS2s at a full 2.5"

Sounds like you are talking about intake manifolds. I already am using an LS6 intake. My concern is totally with exhaust, sorry for not being more clear on that.

Wow, that's quite a difference. Thanks for the input!

Still curious if anyone has any actual flow numbers, though? I suspect that the LS2 exhaust manifolds might be the best of the OEM options, but I'd really like to *know* before we finish the car.
