Hi John,
Currently running an 01 LS1 with the Magnacharger. I'm going to move the Magnacharger over to the LS2 and see how it does.

HI John: That is a nice looking engine. I was wondering if you could do a low compression 402 like yours and keep it naturally aspirated so you coould run it on 87 octane. If you had a computer from a DOD truck how hard would it be to make a custom harness and hook up the DOD feature. It looks like when the car is running in 6 cylinder mode they will have a couple more wires and solenoids to stop the oil pressure from these 2 cylinders to colapse the lifters and shut the valves. The computer would also shut off the spark and fuel to these cylinders. I fiqure the trottle position sensor would turn on these cylinders when the engine is under load. The hardest part would be tuning and software I figure and you would have to run a mild cam that would idle good. Just wondering if you think its do able. Thanks

That's what it needs! I think the Magnacharger was maxed out at 8 psi with the smallest pulley available on my "little" engine. I'm guessing the boost will just drop to some number lower than 8 with the 402, so I would like to see an intercooled KB version come out for these engines!

HI John: Thanks for the feedback I would wait 6 months or a year for the DOD engines to be out and see what people think about them first. I was thinking that an Old Chevelle SS 70-72 with a modern day 402 that you could actual drive and enjoy would be nice. With the price of gas you can't afford to drive the Old school big block motors with carbs too much anymore.

Black02SS: I hope to make it to Muncie this year with the new setup. It just comes down to making the time to work it in.
Reckless: I hope so Todd. It will take some good tweaking to get there.....the Magnacharger may be a little low on oooomph to get the job done, but if there is a KB setup out there on the horizon, that could be the ticket. I really enjoy the roots style blowers!

Very cool...I definatly want to go with a 402 ls2 in the future with my car, I doubt I could afford some FI, though it would be sweet. What are you going to do for heads? Your also still on a 10 bolt right? I know are cars are lighter, but you think youll have any problems with that? Cant wait to see this project start.

I'm actually going to use my stock heads to start with. I'll see what comes along blower-wise in the near future and then do some head work based on that.
Yep. Still running the stock 10 bolt. A new rear is in the budget when needed(I'm sure at some point it will be)!!
