What you are hearing about is the GM rumor mill..the C6 Z06 was going to have a 6.4 liter motor..but in the end it could only make 450 HP so it did not make it into the new Z06..and the 7 liter LS7 did...be prepared for lots of rumors over the next couple of years..don't hold your breath waiting on the blue devil to show up...

Isn't the El Camino SS going to be a Holden Ute?

the way things are going with GM and their product line I just don't see them doing something smart like brining over the holden ute, which was the original plan before the GTO.

The GTO/monaro is built in very small numbers for australia they needed to step up monaro production to cover for the R&D expenses, so selling 15,000 GTOs made up for that. The ute is built in high numbers for australia.

When I was down there two years ago, one of the salesmen at a Holden dealer in Sydney told me that the Ute was going to come over here as the El Camino. And then at the Sydney International Autoshow last year, the Holden rep told me that they still planned to send the Ute over here to become the El Camino.

I wish I could belive them, GMX 282 (gto) is underway though for 2008 or 10; which is good.

Just where would the el camino fit in though? SSR is already a tough sell and fits similar market, just don't see a market for holden ute unless it was GMC or something.
