LS3 and LS9

LS3 and LS9 On another forum it was reported that Chevy has told its dealers that the '08 Corvettes will come with one of 2 6.3L engines: an NA LS3 or a supercharged LS9. No power levels were given or other specifications.
What surprised people was the LS7's apparent two year life span (the LS2's 3 year span). Didn't the LS1 have a 7 year life and the LS6 four. And the SBC 40.

I'd say the LS3 has been around longer then you think, GM threw jornalists bit of a screw ball when they were test driving prototypes of corvettes etc. thoughout last two years. This is where the diehard rumored 6.3 litre C6 Z06 came from.
