LS7 swaps......

I got tired of waiting for them to become available, and bought a LS2 drivetrain last month! It was looking more and more like only a handfull of people were going to get one this year, and it did not look good for me. The more I looked at all the LS7 only parts that this engine used, I came to the realization that this was going to be one expensive drivetrain to build. The $13K or so for the engine was just the tip of the iceberg. By the time I got all the engine accessoies, PCM, wiring, and custom programing, I could see this end up coating a bunch of money! The PCM and custom programing were of particular worry, since I am sure that the vendors will not be exactly rushing to offer a copy of LS7 editing software. Just look how long it took to get LS2 software out! It was all a matter of overkill anyway since I won't even be able to use all the power that the ls2 will produce on the 245 tires that will fit under the wheelwells of the current 65 Corvette project.
