Default ok edumacate me

i know theres a lot of discussion on what bolt ons work for the C6 and the ls2. ive done a fair amount of searching found some answers.

this is what ive found so far.

air intakes work but you want see the gains on the dyno only at a track. anyone specifically tested the blackwing?

headers and cats are good enough as the factory mufflers flow rather well. what about just high flow cats from Random tech?

some people say 1-3/4 primaries for better mid range power while others say 1-7/8 primaries are the only ones worth putting on. i havent seen any dyno graphs for each one so I can only take someones word. anyone happen to have a dyno graph or tried both sizes before?

what about a 160* thermostat? i know the factory one is 200* but will the 160* help the engine run any cooler or just keep it from heating up so quick? i know with other cars without turning the fans on sooner it wont help keep the temps down, but the other cars dont have 200* thermostats either.

how many people would rather spend money on a cam and maybe ported heads than the bolt ons? the costs work out to be about the same. i know bolt ons will help a cam out, thats simply the science of engines. however, it appears that the factory parts are capable of supporting a small cam and doing perfectly fine.

just looking for info and some opinions. seems that the dust has started to settle over what trully works and what doesnt on this engine. thanks.

As you can see in my other post on my SSR it is in for the Radix now. I think I will need a good set of 1 7/8 headers now to let the engine breath. My plan is for 1 7/8" Primaries, 3" Dual Cats, 3" X-Pipe and Dual 3" Mufflers. I really believe the exhaust is the restriction from the factory.
