402 ls2 swap people needed. HELP
Hello All I need some help with my 402 ls2. Here is a break down on whats in this motorSDPC short block (402) -15 cc pistons
Cam 226/226 580 lift 112 lsa
Stage 2 heads with a 65cc with .0041 gasgets (these are ls1 heads)
Had it put in the car with the new motor and then started the up.(motor was primed before stating) There was a loud ping/hitting (sounds a little like a tin can banging on metal. My first though was maybe I did not have Valve/piston clarence but the heads don't looked like they where milled.
I was also wondering could it be that with the stroke of the new motor could it be hiting the oil pan with the crankshaft?? Or is there somthing I overlooked??
I do think you are right about the crankweights i will check it in the morning.
Thanks Again your guys are "the Man"

Due to the angle of the windage tray, it required 2 washers per stud on one side:

....and one washer per stud on the other:
No contact after that. I also used a drop of Loctite on each nut due to the reduced thread contact caused by the spacers.

Jhong321 - Unfortunately this is one of those issues only an experienced LSX engine builder knows about, but the average person doesn't. You need to tear it apart to check the damage.
