The 2006 LS2 crate engines are already being run "stand alone" (put the LS2 engine package in any car) with GM OEM PCMs running Delphi 5 wire MAFs and aftermarket wiring harnesses, including running the 90 MM FBW Throttle body. Just not being done by GM people or GM marketers
Could you please tell us who these people are or how to contact them?

Other independent guys are frenzied out trying to be first with the right power MAP in a MEFI IV and wiring package for these motors, don't hold your breath and get ready to shell out for a cable operated 90 MM throttle body.
I am curious, too, becuase maybe the LS7 can use the same engine management system.

The MEFI system may not be ideal. As I understand it, it was designed for marine applications and not likely to deliver the same quality as the GM PCM in the areas of idle, performance, and fuel management (consumption).

Default Several resources

One of your Sponsors here "FAST", states they have customized or off the shelf "Perfect Circiuit" wiring harnesses available from them for 2005 LS2-6.0 Liter engines with fly by wire throttle with standard or 4l60E trans. They show two part numbers. (See Winter 2005 issue Power & Performance, page 80 Article entitled "Wired" or the FAST website)

Starr performance Australia has the reprogrammed PCMS and/or reprogramming services available now specifically for high performance LS2s.

The GM part# PCM for 2005 LS2 applications is exactly the same for GTO, Corvette and SSR. Retail cost about $500.00, wholesale about $360.00 Cadillac CTS-V has a different one. I've seen back to 2004 PCM sucessfully used.

What I'm using on my own project, I'm keeping under my hat.

I also believe the LS7 can be used this way too, especially if we have fully addressable tunability of the past modded OEM PCMs software.

These are all 24x reluctors though as far as a GM PCM, not the 58x like the '06's and the LS7.

Hey, no fair

According to the part number listed here at S&P, the LS7 and LS2 ('06) PCM are the same box. GM #12603892
