ls2 conversion

What parts do I need to convert my short block form a LS1 to a LS2 ?
My LS1 short went south and I landed a smokin deal on the LS2, I`m just not sure exactly what I need to do the swap!

Yes it will fit. But you need to use the LS2 cam sprocket to ensure proper cam sensor readings because the LS2 cam sensor is mounted inside of the front timing cover.

Cool, I will just order the LS2 sprocket then. So far I just ordered the LS2 front cover with gasket and cam sensor, the LS2 cam retainer plate and a new LS1 oil sensor like suggested in another post.

I was planning to order a new LS1 oil pan too, just so I don't have to take my current one off, but at my cost of $155, forget that ****

Anything else I should consider getting while I'm at it?? Thanks a million for the info!!

I used my stock 98 oil pan and rear cover (new gasket and seal) with no problems. Did you order the shortblock yet? I ask because most sponsors include the basic conversion pieces with their LS2 402's.
I ordered my 402 from SDPC and received the following parts included:

Front timing cover and gasket
LS2 valley cover and bolts
New crank sprocket and key
LS2 timing chain and sprocket

In most cases you will need to buy the LS2 lifter trays (some do include it).

I would call the sponsors to make sure what is included with the shortblock.

Yes it does add up and keeps adding up. At the same time I installed a Strange 12-bolt, built A4 tranny, LPE 3.5" DS, upgraded fuel system. Next is EFIlive Flashscan.

I already have all the supporting mods, so that's already out of the way

I just need a 90/90 and it will be done. I have A LOT to install still (Racetronix kit, etc), so that will go in when the motor goes in
