The hydraulic lifter cars use much smaller cams than the solid lifer engines. If you are hydraulic, why not an LSK lobe, at least on the intake. It will maximize your curtain area, complementing you heads.

If you are going solid, well, you can get pretty radical.

Mr. Beast96Z, it sounds like you will have a gorgeous motor. How are you handling the ECU without a MAF? How high do you expect to rev it? And I would love to hear about your throttle response when you get it, which may be surgically precise
After talking with David and looking at parts he already has, we felt something in the mid 240's on an XE-R lobe would best suit him. His car is a full-interior, full-accessory, A4, Daily-Driver. We feel this cam will give him the idle and part throttle characteristics that are ideal for a daily driver, as well as enough power to make him happy and reach is ET goals.

The LSK series is a very radical series of lobes. I'm sure somebody looking to have a max-effort, hydraulic lifter setup could benefit from these lobes, but I don't think David's car fits into that catagory.

I think your on the right track. For daily driving, and full weights, you want to keep the DCR up. The 244/248 XE-R has been a tried and true performer in 408's. Although a 244/248 XFI lobe could be interesting.

Damn Dave....You gonna force me to build my engine and go single turbo to keep up? That 408 is gonna be one BAD SOB!!!! You'll have to rattle some windows at work from time to time. PS let me know when you get close to putting it on the rollers to dyno, Id like to see that first hand!

Just got the cam in 244 248 612 615 113 All we are waiting on now is the heads and tranny. Heads will be in friday or monday and the tranny also. Next week everything should start going back. Can`t wait to see the numbers. We are going to port the intake real good also and see what happens. The 200 shot should really like it!!

I think that is a great cam for your needs since you are going to be using it as a daily driver.

I got this in my 408: Comp XER grind 242/248 .608/.612 112 lsa

I use my vette as a daily, but gas gets too expensive since I'm always "in" it.
