Default Pellets in LS2 crate coolant passages

I assumed that since these were there I should leave them.

There is a pellet (looks like a round vitamin or something) behind each side of the water pump and one inside the pump.

Assuming these need to stay there for initial startup, what are they for?

Sounds like GM coolant system sealer pellets. I thought they had to be broken up and dissolved though. Maybe they dissolve during normal operation.

Do you know how long engines have coolant in them before they are started for the first time (on the vehicle assembly line)? I could see how sitting in water might disolve them after a while.

I don't know but I'm sure it varies a lot. I wouldn't think the pellets would dissolve unless there was coolant circulation.
