LS2 oil pressure sensor different than LS1?
I did not pay attention to it before installing the engine, but now that the install is done and I am plugging the harness in, it seems as though the stock LS2 oil pressure sender (behind the intake) has a different connector. I can't see it, it just doesn't "feel" like the two will mate up.
If this is the case, do I need to replace the connector on my harness or replace the sensor with an LS1 unit?

We are just finishing installing a LS2 in place of the LS1. We used the same oil sensor and plug that we had with the LS1. Ours was a one pin setup. We were going to replace it but the local dealer here in town only showed a two or four pin connection. Not sure how we ended up with a one pin setup.
I don't recall which is which, but the 98 sensor is either one pin more or one pin less tthan the 99's and up. I think the 98 is two pin and 99's are one pin.
But there defininely is a difference between the 98's and 99's and newer. The shop broke mine during the intake install and every LS1 in the shop (all 99's and up had the same sensor, but different than the one on my 98).
I picked one up at O'Reilly for $20.

Thanks for the replies. I spoke to a guy that broke his during an intake manifold swap and he said that he drove without it for awhile and it did nothing other than lose his gauge. So no problems if I don't use it at all (I have an autometer already wired up).

FYI, I have a 2008 gen 4 iron block (DOD) and the threads are alot smaller than previous..so an upgrade to a newer iron block will need a new sensor and some wire /connector mods as the new one is 3 pin.
EDIT: My block may be a marine VVT block...its all strange that threads are dif sizes and GM seems to know nothing.
