Will an LS2 water pump work on a LS1/LS6?

Will an LS2 water pump work on a LS1/LS6?

Just as the title says...if not, why not? If yes, what else, if anything, is needed?

Well, when comparing a 2002 corvette ls6 water pump part number to the 2006 gto ls2 part number they are the same. So I would say that they will interchange without any other things being needed to make them work. This is straight from my GM catalog here at work... BTW part number for GM/ACDelco is 89017593. Lists out retail at 305.95. Cost to dealership is 152.96. GM must make it out of gold......

My LS1/6 waterpump bolts up to my LS7 and I believe the LS2 and LS7 share the same waterpump so the answer is yes! You may want to check the belt tensioner distance. I noticed that the LS7 waterpump has the bosses for the tensioner about 0.070" closer to the block.
