We have not run a cam-only setup yet but we do have a C6 Z06 with worked-over LS7 heads and cam. So far it has put down 582rwhp and 507rwtq but we are still looking at ways to improve the package.

Are you looking for results with cam only upgrades or any wilder than stock combo? I know Andy at A&A Corvettes has a 441 LS7 about to hit the rollers. Has a solid roller cam
FYI don't try to machine the heads for 1.550" springs. Some core shifted heads will end up water cooling the springs.

We have our stage one cam that layed out 525 with headers/cam and tuning. Our next stage will be going in very shortly.

Awesome! How lumpy is the cam? How much head work?

The cam is pretty lumpy. I'll try to get a sound clip of it but it sounds very mean. The cam isn't big enough to where it impairs drivability however. The owner was given many compliments on the sound when driving down the front straight at Road Atlanta. The heads are still confidential but I will report back to forums if I get any information.

I always thought water cooling was a good thing!

What is a core shift? Is that when the passages and such are shifted slightly from one casting to another because of the way the metal is poured?

Chuck here did one some time again and made 550 to the wheels with a cam and headers etc. The heads are so good that the cam adds a lot of power even though they are already really up there in oem trim.

Yea, it's caused by the variance of the core placement in the casting box. Some heads shift one direction, some the opposite. For a performance head, the LS7 is a bit weak due to the thin wall design. Caution should be used when undertaking any machining or porting.

This is the kind of info I was trying to get awhile back. People trying to tell me that there isn't much room for improvment on the LS7's If you guys are already getting 580+rwhp on a street engine then I guess that theroy is blown out of the water lol

You can always PM me details since I'm ready to buy...I'm looking for 600RWHP and plan to probably use a sheetmetal intake to get there. I have enough hood clearance on my car to have Hogan make me a nice long runner mini-tunnel ram so that I don't compromise the torque
