Default Ls2 402?

Hey guys, I am going to buy a 402 from TSP and I have a question. I have a set of Rapid Motorsports stage 2 ls1 heads with 2.02/1.60 valves. Rapid heads are ported big and flow pretty well but I don't know how well they will work with big cubes. I am going to shoot for about 11.5 to 1 compression with the 248/254 cam, Fast 90/90 intake and I have Jet Hot 1 3/4 headers. My question is how much are the smaller heads going to hurt this setup? I hate to buy new heads again and lose the 2k that I payed for my Rapid heads. How much power do you guys think I can make with these heads and what would be the difference with PRC stage 3 heads? Thanks in advance.

More info to help power estimates. My setup includes 3 inch y pipe with no cats, cut-out, asp underdrive pully, 12 bolt with 3.73, M6 tranny, and I believe the Rapid heads are basically the same as AFR 205's.

Id pony up for some badass heads if i had already spent thousands on the short block....You can always sell the heads you have to offset the cost. Personally i like the ETs but since they arent available Id go with the AFR 225's....

I want to buy new heads but I don't think I can afford them at the same time. I am wondering what I can possibly make with the heads I have and then hopefully buy a better set next year.

Why don't you have Rapid build you a 402. He is the best in the area

I wanted to have Mike build my motor but he is backed up for two to three months and he is about $3,000 higher. I am going to have Mike tune it though.

Sorry to intrude on your thread, but I was thinking about TSP's 402 too. I sent them an e-mail a while back and still haven't heard anything. So, does anyone here how well the internals they put in will hold up? (eagle, scat, and mahle) 500 HP is nice and all, but I want to blow and spray up to 500 more and am unsure as to whether or not those internals can take the abuse.

Thanks,
-somebody

I changed some stuff in my motor to make it a bit stronger and more expensive. I would think you are going to have to beef up the internals quite a bit to handle that kind of abuse.
