AWESOME job guys!

This motor is making UNBELIEVALBE power. I remember the days of '99-'00 when we were first really starting to unlock the power of the LS1. Looking back at how far we've come with that motor, it will be VERY exciting to see where the future takes us with the LS7 and beyond.

BEAUTIFUL curve, and good LORD that motor is still making over 600hp at 7200rpm where you let off!

My car has a G5X3, 4400 stall, 3.73 gears, shitty long tubes and custom true duals now. If you need a test car I'd glady offer up my hoopty

Any concerns with this thread and running LS7 to 7+K and 600+ rwhp?

Or do you feel the LS7 can handle this combo for many miles?

Lou, is this on the stock bottom end? I'd heard you guys were putting pistons in some LS7's. Did you bump up the compression at all?

Stock pistons, heads milled .01 which he said raised c/r to 11.1/1, he also did a little work on the exhaust port.

The math shows a 1 7/8 diameter primary being ideal for a 427. But, as has been shown, the Ls7 exhaust is far from optimal. From the testing I've seen Lou's headers keep up velocity and do a good job of clearing the cylinder.

If the Ls7 had a better exhaust port this would be a differnet story, but none the less, Lou has shown how good his headers are. And, depsite what the math might show, real world testing wins out every time.

I'd like to see a dyno comparrison between some of the other nice long tubes on the market and LG's for an F-body. i've been hoping that LG wouldn't forget about us F-body's.

so if you had this combo on a 408 or a 414, what kind of power could you expect? i mean an ls base is an ls base right? apperently you can get the rods cheap enough then throw in some forged pistons and the rest of the lg combo and in theory shouldnt it be upper 5s at least

The 408 does not have a large enough bore to run an LS7 head. The 416 may technically, but the exhaust valve is going to be VERY close to the bore and may not flow so hot.
