Default ls1 to ls7

ok I been away for a whie I tried doing a search for ls1 but didnt really find what I was looking for. my original plan was a resleeved ls1 block and cnc ported ls6 heads and ls6 intake for the 427 package, now I see all this ls7 goodies floating around. I seen in a couple of other posts that the ls7 block is simlar to the ls2 just resleeved. I was wondering would the ls7 heads and intake fit a resleeved ls1, and how does the heads and intake on the ls7 compare to te gm cnc ported ls6 heads and intake. or would it be best to start with a new ls2 block and get it sleeved and go with the ls7 goodies. thanks

We have a resleeved Ls1 block with LS7 top end going on the dyno very soon. The LS1/LS2 will be cheaper then buying an LS7 block. Check our Turn key 427 pacakge out www.mizfitmotorsports.com, they are very reasonably priced. You can option things out if you don't need or already have them.

Really? How much is cheaper?

427ImpalaSS, the production LS7 block is not a resleeved LS2 block... not even close. There was inaccurate information being posted up awhile back that has mislead alot of folks. Preproduction LS7's, including several variations of resleeved LS2's that had a casting ident pad change, made it to some racing teams and in some private hands via the back door... NEVER over the counter. The preproduction blocks are just that. Several minor exterior changes were made along with a change to the main webbing casting area as compared to an LS2. Those are the visuals I can make out. I have been told the production LS7 block is casted from a stronger aluminum than the LS2 but have not done the research to verify so take that with a grain of salt. Internally, only GM knows... unless someone wants to cut a block apart to verify. The production LS7 block is holding back some serious NA horsepower... just check out LG and Katech's work just to name 2. If you don't want to wait for the release of the production LS7 block then pick up a resleeved LS2...

We don't know exact pricing of the LS7 bare block but from the looks of it a resleeved Ls2 will be cheaper, how much only time will tell. But if it is going to be as much as I think it will I would rather upgrade to a Warhawk block over the LS7. But resleeved LS2 are here and ready for building.

Where can I find warlock blocks? I will check out the packages on your page. seeing as how I already have the ls1 I would rather go with that buildup if I could. my original plan was for a TT setup but now that I am going NA I just want to get good streetable hp.
