no pics, and only accepts a wire transfer. I smell scam artist here. He does have good feedback though

This one's at $12,400 shipped and insured an it's not a scam. Most savy sellers now realize that a cashiers check and a personal check are no different because there are so many fradulent cashiers checks floating around.

I think you can get a LS7 crate motor from Jegs for $12,999... No worries about a scam artist there..

You sure are friendly towards the seller. Is it your listing?

There's nothing wrong with a wire transfer. It's a legitiment way to send money. Plus it weeds out BS buyers from the seller's standpoint.

From the buyer's stand point a wire transfer and a cashiers check are the same IF the cashiers check is legit. IF the cashiers check is fradulent, and that's happening more frequently these days, there is a BIG difference to the seller if he ships the item before the cashiers check clears through the banking system. A phone call and references are probably the best protection. I sincerely hope I haven't abused this forum.

I am really torn between keeping my sweet little daily driver road rocket together or having to go back to my '76 F250 4 X 4 for the couple of months I'd have my BMW torn up while I drop the LS7 in. I'm certainly not going to give the LS7 away; I've got $13400 invested in it. I'm very tempted to do the swap as it appears there's no weight pentalty and I've done all of the major stuff for the swap when I installed the LS1/6. Thanks, John, for the encouragement and your prompt advice by phone and email concerning the VCM and wiring.

I'd take a chance on getting scammed before buying from Jegs again.

yeah ok. Apparently you dont know of all the ebay wire transfer schemes. Paypal is an instant tyransfer so the seller should have no issue with it or for that matter an overnighted cashier check.

A wire transfer takes place between two banks. Simple. However, someone can take advantage of any type of situation where money changes hands, that's a given in life.

Paypal is a disadvantage to seller's with items of that price b/c of the huge fees that come out of their principal they are sent.

A wire transfer is a completely legitiment way to carry out a transaction. I have done a wire transfer for over $20,000 dollars for a car b/w my bank and the owner's bank w/out issue. It's very simple.
