Help with a simple serpentine system please! I am at the start of an LS7 engine installation into a component car built for the track. The engine will be running a serpentine belt that drives only an alternator. The car has no AC and no power steering.
I understand I can use a Caddy CTS-V alternator and bracket, and use the tensioner set up on the passenger side. The question is, what idler/pulley do I use on the driver side, and what belt do I use? Any GM part numbers would be greatly appreciated!

On my LS1/6 engine in my BMW I run only a Corvette alternator mounted on a Corvette alternator bracket (upper left side of engine) and a single multi-grooved belt from a Corvette damper with no tensioner or pulley. It works very well and I will use the same system on my LS7 engine/BMW install if I do that project.
