427 with LS6 ported Heads?
I was considering the 402 but with so many options for the 427, the choice is easy - 427. However, here is the issue - I want to use my new 90mm TB and manifold, GM LS6 ported head. My car only has 6000 miles. I would like to use my old parts, mainly the heads, TB and manifold because they are new, about 2000 miles on them. Will the heads restrict the engine too much or should have fully ported or LS7 heads?
thanks
Bill
u might as well go with some l92 heads, they flow better than 325 cfm
as cast and should pick up a few more cfm with a good valve job
and bowl work with the stock 2.16 valves
waiting for my set to come in so i can start working them
also waiting on my flowbench to come in though
im building a 414 ci around these heads 4.06 bore x 4in strk

What intake works with them? I thought there were some port/runner match issues.
its an oz composite similiar to an ls2 intake, but its a 3 piece design so
it can be pulled apart for minor porting and radiusing.
i understand that there is single plane carb intake in the works for these heads
Any idea of an availability date or testing data?
Id get the L-92 heads, or a set of Ls7 heads, sell your LS6 heads and fast 90/90, and get the Ls7 heads, they are about the best flowing heads around, and they are GM stock peices. Get those, and a LS7 intake, and you'll be able to push 600 rwhp without issue.
