what is the c5r capable of?
im looking into building a new engine, my previous one was only capable of 630hp and about 550 torque, i would like to build a c5r warhawk 454 alluminum with warhawk heads, eagle forged internals, a huge cam and head combo and ls7 ported intake. Do you guys think that this would be capable of 650hp and 650 torque? or do you guys think the c5r is capable of this period, if so how do you think this could be acheived?

The C5-R block is a block thats made by GM, its currently available and cost around 7k bux
The Warhawk is a block from World Products that hasnt even been released yet.
the warhawk is the c5r block except it doesnt use a dry sump oil system, and yes you can get the warhawk on jegs already. link = http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=10719

At this time, a point 3 1/2 weeks prior to that date, it's now apparent that Warhawk will not be ready for distribution. We at World feel it's best to be square about this developing situation with all of you who have been enthusiastic and supportive throughout. Informing you ahead of the deadline, while painful, is only fair in our view.
These are the facts.
The "Brand X" over-runs described earlier were near totally resolved three weeks after I reported them to you. They have had a minimal impact on this current delay. All the tooling for Warhawk (designed entirely by us), has been finalized and in place since my first post. The actual block and head designs have been completed to production level for that length of time also. I wrote that inspection and approval for production was near. In short, there was nothing more here at World to delay the situation. It's been out of our hands. It's the frustrating part for us.
In the case of the blocks, we've hit a scheduling "wall" at the foundry and machining centers which we believe will extend to mid-late August. We believe that heads may be sooner but we've no definite word on that yet.
Before some of you throw brake rotors at us, know this. WorldTech has gone through extreme manoevers and considerable additional expense to alter this situation. His anger and frustration exceeds any one elses', 'cause we'd rather be selling you this stuff than telling you our problems.
So at this time, there are no flow numbers, there are no mock-ups of stroker combinations and no complete, assembled combinations rattling our dynos - but that will come. Design work of the carb manifold continues as well as projects beyond Warhawk. We're still trying to get head data to the piston mfgs. as so many of you requested.
To those of you who thought "I told you so", flame away. We hate being the object of your scorn. To those who still feel this project is perfect for your application and remain patient, we appreciate your loyalty and assure you the parts won't disappoint.
I'll be back to post hopefully much better time news as it may develop.

If you're reluctant to call and get the answer, here's proof.
The pictures on Jegs' website shows a raw casting. Flats and bearing surfaces have not been machined. There are no holes drilled for main caps, cam thrust plate, or even head bolts for that matter. Do you think Jegs took this picture from stock in their inventory?
We have had 4 Warhawk blocks on order since February. MerlinPro (World Products) has posted here on LS1tech expressly saying that they will not be ready until at least August.

Guys,
Thanks for your help - sorry I'm jumping in late here.
Stang,
1. The Warhawk block and C5R block are NOT the same.
2. The Warhawk block IS prepared for dry sump.
3. World has no responsibility nor control of anyones' web site or info contained therein.
4. WE HAVE NO BLOCKS OR HEADS IN OUR OWN BUILDINGS, AS OF TODAY.
For the record, we will offer an assembled short block with forged Eagle, Manley and ARP components in the 454 displacement.
Thanks again guys.

For the record, when the 17" M/T drag radials came out last year, Summit and Jeg's both had them on their website. Of course, they were backordered for 6 months.
