Talking Almost LS7 poer from tuned LS2 or LS6?

Hi all I am looking to possibly do a conversion (like my own) on another TVR.

But this time do and LS7, or an LS6 or 2 if I can get high 400bhp from either of the 2 or 6. One obviously the 7 is alot more than a 2 or 6, and I am hearing that the Dry Sump pump on the 7 is going to be in the way of the TVR chassis rails (which I cannot or world not want to cut / mod!).

So can I get big numbers from a 2 or 6 by fitting CNC ported heads (like P/N 88958622) and then running and ASA Camshaft. If easier and cheaper and can get similar number from the 6 as the 2 then 6 sounds better route as ECU is cheaper as is the base engine.

Will run and LS2 pan on either.

Do not want to go the 12- 13k rout if possible i.e. LS7 or the similarly expenisve Rapidmotorsports LS2 (13k route).

All comments kindly considered. this baby weighs 2450ish lbs!

Great project.
You should be able to 550 hp (flywheel) quite easily from a 402 LS2 based stroker. This could be a half the price of a LS7. In a 2,400 lb car it will be stimulating, at least.

Not sure I want to stroke it. Just more expense, would want to get an LS6 or 2 and then have this sent to the people in the US I us and have them add then heads and the cam.

I presume this ASA cam runs with the std rocker and LS6/2 valves springs and not high lift ones which would presumably over open the valves. 470bhp+ will be fine

Well the nice part is you can get a new LS2 based shortblock for <$4,500 here and then some used heads and extras and you can be ready to go crazy for faily short $.

so is the CNC heads and the ASA cam the way to go for a 2 or 6 for revvy big power then (ARP bolt it as well) but std rockers (these even come with the heads so have two sets!).
