Default Which power adder for 07 z06?

Hey folks,

I'm trying to decide what type of power adder I want to go with. My goal is 600rwhp with no other mods, stock drivability, and 91 octane gas. I was considering twin turbo, progressive nitrous or a magnuson. I am not open to a centrifugal, been there done that (xx-trim on my stang), not my cup of tea any longer.

The problem with the magnuson is I suspect the blower is a bit undersized for 7000 RPM/7.0L, so I'm considering a whipple in its place:

http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1230

I am not afraid that its a tuner kit, I am capable of dealing with the fuel system and tuning myself.

Has anybody tried this on their ls2 or ls7 c6? What kind of problems did you run into?

The other attractive option for me would be a properly sized tt system, however I havent seen any that float my boat except APS's kit, but it doesnt appear to be out yet:

http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/corvette/c6.htm

If the whipple and the twin turbo present too many c6 specific challenges then plan-b is a methanol based progressive nitrous system, but I am all too familiar with the associated challenges there.

I am open to all suggestions and experience, please feel free to post your thoughts.

The APS Twin Turbo...finished one last week on a 427 - 764 RWT / 656 RWHP - 11.4 lbs boost.

dyno image removed due to non-sponsoring vendor contact info on it.

One question... does it have to pass smog?

If not, then you can go wild. If you do, then you're pretty much screwed.

Steve, I would speak to Rick at Synergy in Freemont. 510-796-3749
He has three versions of a cam, intake and header setup for C6 Z06.
He was recently in Corvette Magazine for his C6 Z06 work.
He has done a couple of cars in your area and is in close proximity to you.

He also has done the most sucessful Kenne Bell unit so far.
As far as twin turbo's, there were at least three at shop this week getting worked on, with parts for a couple others to be installed on some other cars.

600 is CAKE with out poweradders. Well maybe not cake but doable. If ur only lookin to make 600 RWHP then dont worry about any forced induction. IT would be serious overkill. GL man

I don't know if I'd like to lose 260 lb/ft of torque between 3.5K and 6.5K like on the TT setup above.

Thanks everybody for your advice. The APS kit was my first choice, but I thought it was vaporware. I'll give them a call.

Get the new Kenne Bell kit. It should make 600rwhp or more with ease

The magnuson is a bit undersized for 7.0L. I'm itching to install the APS kit on a new Z06. Nobody's cam package will get you 600rwhp. If they think it does bring it to my dyno and we'll see if they're pulling your leg.

Give me a call and lets talk

This gets my vote if you got the money. I would go turbo on my GTO if I had the funds to do so.

I'll say it again,Kenne Bell. Magnuson may be undersized but a Kenne Bell would be perfect

Hey, but I read on the internet that 600+RWHP is possible with a simple cam swap and bolt ons... so it must be true

I agree with you Jason... there is alot of hype out there!

HPE, Heads, cam, longtubes no-cats, ported tb, electric water pump and a good tune.
550-600 wheel? Doesn't seem impossible to me.

The Kenne Bell is for LS1/2/6, not LS7. The intake manifold patern is different. I seriously doubt it would fit, not to mention require a huge cowl hood if it were to some how magically made to fit.
