I'm shopping for a new setup. I'm guessing this is a solid roller? Any ideas on the power band?

I cant see it having a lot of TQ, but I can see it having some nasty top end.

You're not gonna be able to spin it that high unless you have a dry sump setup at the minimum. Definitely have to be solid roller. Not really what you would want for your intended goals 99blancoSS

X2. Short stroke big bore is GREAT for high RPM and hp but horrible for TQ. Just like most race engines that rev to teh moon. Got about 2" of stroke to get that high and they let the rpm's do the job.
I would love to have a NA engine with no nitrous that can make 700 and rev to 8k. Sounds like a Nascar engine. GL guys

I was thinking that might be the case but it caught my eye so I thought I'd get some info on it.

It uses a modified production lifter.

FYI Tim Tosto spins his LS1 to 8100rpm through the traps with stock oil system. However for reliability I have heard the most you want to spin is about 7500 before the pickup starts getting starved for oil.

why? it's 346 cubic inches with a big bore, that'll make a lot of torque, you just need to gear/stall the car so you're in the powerband

that and the destroked 377's (originally 400cid) produce some good torque.

400 bore = 4.125"
283 stoke = 3.000"

That is 320.7ci, not quite a 350.

I thought they used the 327 crank, not the 283... that's 3.25" stroke...

Ahh, now that would be a 350. 347.5ci is close enough to count.

Thats what I've been thinking about doin. Take a 3.625" stock crank with a 4.19" bore sleeved/LS2 and get just shy of 400ci with long 6.2" rods you get an incredible rod ratio and at least from Dynosim you get some really good numbers.
