Question Help w/ my LS2........

Ok guys I need help choosing a cam. I have patriot performance stage 2 heads w/ their dual springs. I want a cam that I dont have to wait untill 5000rpm before I get a lot of power. I'll be doing nearly all my racing on the street and dont want to get beat down low. I was thinking about thunder racing tr224 (224/224 .563/.563 112lsa). It has a great power band 1700-6600rpm. Check out the dyno:
http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...22&sid=88#P197
However this is a fairly mild cam for the ls2. Does anybody know of a slightly larger cam with the same kind of powerband. Maybe something with a 23x duration I-E and about .600" lift. I would like to be about 430rwhp/tq w/ my a4.

Thanx for the input!
Oh and mods are LPE CAI, kooks LT's w/cats flowmaster super 40's, predator tune.

I had that cam in my 346 and it was the best cam I ever had, mid range was phenominal. When I went with a bigger cam it was amazing how much I lost under the curve. Maybe Paul at Thunder could get you a custom similar to the 224/224 but a little bigger.

Definately will be calling Paul. I've found its very hard to find a cam that is comparable to the tr44.

The TR224 would be an excellent choice. With your heads you dont need a huge cam.....but you can. My cam on stock heads has plenty of low end. And after 3k rpm...look out.

How about HPE's S-cam or C-cam. These seem to be real popular over and make real good power while maintaining stock-like driveability (with a tune of course).

My decision was/is between the tr224 and hpe-s cam. Anbody have any experience with both of theese cams? I know the s-cam will put me where I want to be as far as peak power goes.......but I dont want to sacrifice my low end torque for peak hp.

Still waiting to get some dyno time. Hopfully this week. I can tell you the #'s from my '04 with a TR220 (220/.551 114lsa). Stock heads, LT's w/cats and SW 3" cat back and cai was 355/350. Not a dyno queen, but who cares. I had torque out the ***. My best example: I raced an '05 from a 25mph roll. He got the jump by a couple feet and we stayed like that all the way. 3-4 shift at 90mph and I was still breaking traction! And I dont mean chirp,,,I mean the *** end was fishtailing. Hell of a cam. Lotta respect for the folks at Thunder Racing. If you are still deciding when I get to the dyno, Ill post up. I picked the Comp after talking with Comp, Crane and a couple of old farts who know their **** about racing. None of us are big fans of these big lift cams. Though thats all you will hear about on these forums..bigger is better. But 1 of the quickest N/A gto's in the country was with a 221/.566 cam....go figure.
Its a big nasty competative world out there and everyone wants your money.,...and will say whatever it takes to get it. Take your time, ask a lot of questions, read read read and research. I read up on this crap for over a year and still dont understand most of it. Im rambling....Im done now.

Thanx for the insight man! I also am leaning towards the tr224 because of its ability to support a shot of nitrous. It's not in the works yet but maybe a 100 shot is'nt out of the question later down the road. Thanx again for the input!
