Default Have you heard of this? Expert opinion please..

Here's the situation...

Had my motor rebuilt ( cracked block "resleeved").. Since then the car has been burning coolant.. replaced radiator,t-stat(twice), water pump, check relays, fans, hoses, etc... NO leaks @ ALL!! Car runs great...

The "shop" pulled my heads and found that infact the sleeve did not seal properly allowing the water to pass through the water jacket's...

Here's the deal.. They are proposing to drill the hairline crack in the block, thread it, place some sort of screw in there and grind it "i guess" flush to the block... they will use the Fel-pro gaskets..

Have you heard of this? Any experiences appreciated...

Thanks..

Doesn't sound like the right way to fix it. I would change out the block.

Two things will happen. First, the crack will come back and be even larger. Second, you will be buying a new block after all the extra down time.
Or you could bite the bullet and get a new block. I can't tell you how many issues I've seen with re-sleeved blocks other than factory...
