Default 402/TH400 cam grind?custom?who?help.

It's cam selection time for the new Texas Speed 402 short block.
It will be going into a 2000 WS6 with a TH400,4,000 stall & 4:10 gears.
The motor has MTI stage 2E heads,Comp roller rockers,SLP throttle body
Z06 intake, underdrive pulley & custom tune as per last motor.
I know I'll need new injectors & a retune, but Ive heard different information
on the cam size in the area of the effect the TH400 would have with the
different 1st gear vs a 4L80,TH350 or a 6 speed(which is coming out)
I will drive it on the street & the track, mostly street,I've driven rank big blocks,so I know it will idle like ***,however I just want to make sure the cam has enough low end torque to work with the TH400 gearing.

Ant suggestions?

With a 4000 stall..... it won't matter much, as the motor won't really be down there. I'm running a 402/th400 setup, and with the loose converter I have in my car it's at about 2000 or more even just putting around... same 4.10 gearing too. That being said.. I'd go for something that's matched to the heads/rest of the setup more then worrying about the low end where the motor will rarely be.

I would do some research on the heads/cube combo and see what has worked. I like my cam/heads/cube combo but I asked the expert (at AFR) to order me the cam that would get what I wanted out of my combo. Basically I told Tony that I wanted a daily driver race car that idles nice (with extensive hours of tuning) but really moves out. See below for what he came up with. I like it.

What sort of cam are you running & what is your 60 foot time?

60 foot was 1.53 on the 10.80 pass, been averaging between 1.52 and 1.54 that day though.

Cam in my car is an Eastside stroker grind, it is in the mid 240's for duration, lift is over 600

I have a 402 as well and mine has a Texas Giant cam. 1.48 is the best N/A 60 ft so far.
