to SD or not to SD
When we get our cars tuned on speed density, It just uses those values instead of the MAF, so we can just get rid of it all together... pluss some fine tuning to the numbers aswell. It's really useful for tuning big cams and making them idle.
To answer your question would be yes, it's only one SD tune and you're done.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong?
To get into SD mode you reset your closed loop values to engage at 252 degrees for your ECT. Then disable the maf fail codes and work from there. Speed Density uses the MAP, IAT, and 02's. Tune it once spot on and go.

see with a 90mm tb the inlet for air needs to be 4" and my K&N FIPK isnt that large and neither is the MAF should i eliminate the MAF and tune for SD for this new setup
You want your question answered, but won't answer a simple question from anybody else - good luck.
It's pretty riciculous to not share what works and doesn't work.
If that upsets you, go pound sand.
If you enjoy a music CD, do you make copies for your friends? If you enjoy a movie, do you burn DVD's for your friends?
I have almost the exact same setup, and have been running SD for a while and have a lot of great information I could provide, but I won't becuase my tuner has asked me not to. This site is great! - everyone sharing information to help each other!!!

This is a related thread posted by Black02SS- the restriction of the 78 mm MAF ...the 78 mm is the restriction ...not the MAF.

Dragaholic: You can run a Wideband 02 setup with leaded gas, you'll just end up fouling out the WB 02 sensor a lot more. So essentially you could just get the tune spot on and then not worry about it unless you are logging at the track constantly. SD open loop doesn't change values, only closed loop does. So once the tune is nailed it will be spot on.
And for all the people who keep crying about releasing his cam specs, STFU and go play on clubrsx. Do you honestly think you should be able to just give information to everyone and anyone without paying for it? Do you think multi-billion dollar companies bring in people who charge no fee to streamline their business operations and cut costs?
And do you think GM and Dodge call each other for technical advice around problems for free?
NO!Nate
