I thought that that was for Forced Induction apps. Some guys talked about it in the FI forums here and perf trucks.

FI yes.
But, I was wondering if the 85 mm MAF was a restriction on the bigger bore na setups - seems like it would be with the heads available (360 -380ish)??

HumpinSS tested 85mm MAF vs straight pipe on his 430rwhp car, and dyno showed less than 0.5hp difference throughout the entire rev range, so i say it's not a bottleneck.

Thanks, man!
I was thinking more along the lines of total airflow through the enlarged intake (4" and 100mm cs MAF) feeding a 550-600 rwhp biggie sized block.

I went with a straight piece of pipe over the stock maf and gained 7 rwhp on the same dyno but different day. I am around 420 rwhp cam only. My butt dyno couldn't tell the difference.

Thanks John.=!! Let us know.
Will do since I will also be doing a back to back test. In addition, I will be trying out one of Jeremy Formato's ported LS7 intakes (just sent him a new core Friday). I will also be doing some dyno tuning to see if I can crack 510-520RWHP on a stock motor since I haven't done anything with my timing or A/F curves yet. If this doesn't get it then I might also step up to the 96mm TB!

being this is a 100mm for a NA application, is 105mm throttle body too much for a high performance NA application?

For what its worth the LPE MAf is nothing more than a current C6 meter element stuff into an aluminum housing.

No it's not. It looks more like a GTP MAF.
