GM Direct Blocks
GM Direct Blocks Does anybody know if the New Blocks from GM come pre-machined and align-bored form the factory or do they still have to be machined before assembly?

They are machined but you have to stay with their fasteners if you want the right clearances etc and you still have to measure everything. Even the Bores are not always right on. I have two iron blocks so far that are already almost .002 too big on the bores. At GM they have pistons for that but the aftermarket does not unless its a custom.
Interesting, I'll have to talk to my builder about this. If the LSX comes with a "4.125" finished bore, maybe we'll just order 4.130 pistons (the pistons are going to take a while to get, so I want them ordered and ready by the time the LSX ships) and make it perfect.
Then again, maybe the LSX will ship with much tighter specs.
