Default Which cam for a 403 LS2

Now alot of ya'll i know are going for peak numbers, and drag racing. I... am not. I autocross and i stay in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd MOST of the time, other than that i drive my car daily. I'm wanting to go with a 403, can anyone help me choose a good cam for this motor, that with an LS6 intake and ported 243 heads, that i can get 475-500hp out of?

I'm thinking 113 - 114 lsa, and the .600+ lift would be ok.

MSGHuff, do you have sound clip?

What heads are you planning on using? With the stroker motors, the narrower LSAs tend to work better. The 113-114s will feel kind of soft in a big cube LSx.

I plan on running ported 243's from my LS6. They need a little work on them, so while they're off, might aswell have them done.

So are you saying a cam closer to a 112 would be better? or the other way and say a 115-116? I dont want a whimpy sounding stroker! lol

Yea, i know that much. I'm used to looking at cams for stock displacement LS1/6 motors... not a 403ci stroked LS2, so i'm not quite sure what to look for.

HPE uses the S cam in just about all of their big inch motors awesome cam will not be dissappointed. they did an 02 ws6 408 motr with afr 205 heads which is small for a 408 with the s-cam and mad 500rwhp and 488 rwtq.
