Things I already have on hand are - my stock ls1, 40 lb injectors, fuel rail, and 918's. I get the machine work and assembly done by a local guy who has a full shop in his three stall garage (he has built motors for me before). The cam is the big questions. I was going to just go with a stock LS7 (<$200 used) but I may end up ponying up for a bigger stick and the springs to go with it.

I know there are a bunch of stuff I am missing - oil pump, timing chain, head bolts, etc, but I am looking to get it in and running for under $5000 with the tune. Thus the official "Cheap Bastard" moniker. Considering just eight months ago I was looking at $2200 heads with a $1300 intake, I think this is a big improvement in the wallet department.
