Default Ordered TSP 427 LS7!!!

Just ordered my 427 LS7 from TSP this afternoon! The car has been down a while, I have had numerous estimates from every sponsor and alot of different options as far as heads and intakes and we finally got everything figured out and are starting the build. We are using the LS7 block with ported L92 heads and an extremely aggressive cam and shooting for around 11:5.1 CR. Our goal is 550 at the wheels which is hopefully a conservative number. This is the first 427 I have heard of using the L92 heads and intake setup. We would have gone for the LS7 heads however, we could not use the steel valves due to valve float issues with the cam we are using and when you priced the Titanium intake and sodium exhaust valves it became way to much to handle price wise at this time. I will let everyone know how this turns out when it is completed. I have done alot of research and asked a lot of questions before making my decision and I must say if you are looking for a shortblock build I would have to recommend TSP be your first place to start looking, they have been great to deal with.

The L92s should still work well. Are you buying the longblock from TSP? If so, are you using the ported L92s?

What cam did you end up going with if you don't mind my asking (pm me if you don't want the world to know - I'm currently looking at a 418 setup and wouldn't mind seeing what people using L92 heads have spec'ed out.)

Thanks.

Thanks guys, I have been planning this for 5 years. Bought the car new in 98 and was just waiting for everything to fall into place. I will keep everyone in the loop. Let me know if you guys have any questions that I might be able to help out with.

hey jake- i believe TSP owns PRC so most of their applications use the PRC ported heads. i remember a post from one of the TSP guys saying the PRC L92 heads should be out within a week or so. i have the PRC LS6 heads going in my car shortly which is completely unrelated but i just thought i'd share.

sincerely,
some guy with the same name as you

Im sure he does. DCR of 11.5:1 with large cam would be something insane like 18:1 static. Unless its an Avgas or methanol eater or something?
