^ I agree, but there are so many idiots out there that have no idea the difference between the 2. If I put 400 RWHP on my car somewhere they would still think its 400 HP period, which although that in itself doesn't bother me, stupid people do. So I'd rather calculate a conservative estimate and use that so I don't realize they are retarded. However there is a nice blue DD SS here that says 649 RWHP on the scoop!

Yeah, if I had all motor big RWHP numbers over maybe 500 (A4), then I'd put it on the side of the ram air 'nostrils' IN 3/4" black letters . It would read '500HP ALL MOTOR' ... only if I made those kind of numbers, though.

I think what Carl Black put on those blackbirds, fly or rwhp, is what you should put on yours. they say 380 and I think that is at the motor & not the wheels.

for me if i was goin to do it i would go RWHP cuz to me thats show exactly how much you have on the grund .i dont really see why you would want to advertise your fly wheel hp even if it is 400 your still not getting 400 to the ground after your drivetrain loss .and i gues im old fashiond i like the power at the ground so RWHP FTW for me.

Also if you can post some reason why you think Fly wheel hp should be posted intstead lets here it cuz im debating on puttin some hp stickers on mine after the cam swap

Flywheel numbers are standard. Look at the Z06s with the 405hp badge. Perfect example. If you're putting rwhp numbers put rwhp after the number on your decal. Ego inflation or not when I see a hp sticker on a car I think flywheel.

I like how you think putting the REAL hp down. I think the same way. It's best to know what the car is putting to the ground. But I agree with Josh,

That's the only reason I'm going to put down a number like 460HP instead of something like "410RWHP". I think the more letters you put on the hood, in this case, the worse it looks on the hood. I was thinking of putting something like that or even 460 ALL MOTOR like jeb99TA mentioned, but that's just way too many characters to make it look good.

Exactly. Flywheel + the letters "HP" just like the Z06s did with 405 HP.

It's clean. It's simple. It's an industry standard. No need to reinvent the wheel.

I think anything over 400 HP, a badge would be ok. 400 is something to be proud of, even if it just took a lid, LT's, and a catback to get there. People now adays, especially with all the newer cars coming out, think our cars get slower by the day. I think a conservative estimate for my car would be say 480 HP, factorying a 16% loss which I think is ok for a stalled auto. If someone saw a badge on an F-body (a badge thats not tacky!) and it read 4XX - 5XX HP that would be cool. Putting like 350 HP is kinda retarded though, you may aswel have a badge that reads 'Stock'

I was waundering the same?!Anyhow,Ill throw my 2 cents in here.I think rather than putting horespower numbers of any kind it would be alot better to just put the cubic inch displacement.Like say 427 C.I.D. on the side of your hood. Now that shows more class!!No ego there.....just the truth Traver

Dang if I know dude. It sure wasn't started in that section. I've pissed off a few moderators here and I guess either they're ******* with my thread or a mistake was made by me or them.

Would a good moderator please move this back where it belongs?

i like the CID thing, if u wanna b a sleeper it all goes down the drain when u start the car and they can hear a cam loping, HP numbers look cool on the hood.

heres a story on that

i was at the local track back when i was in el paso, and this mustang club rolls in, this one car in perticular caught my eye, he came in reving and revved at every car in my club except me(i got there late and had to park on the other side) any how he had a 335hp decal where the GT is supposed to be, me at the time was only putting down 333whp, i didnt even think twice, while walking to the group of guys talking their 281 bull, i was thinking to myself ima show this f#cker what torq is all about, i go up to him and ask him for a race, i wasnt being cocky or anything, he looks at me like im dumb and asks "what do u drive?", i said "an ls1", he smerks, and i can see his buddies talking ****, he then asks "what u got", i say "bolt ons", and then i add "come on u reved at all my boys earlier", so we line up and i rev at him while waiting, i f#ckin hate cocky mustang guys, he does his burn out (a one legged one at that lol) i do mine and then pull up to stage, lights go yellow and he takes off, i take off right after i see this, i had him in the middle of 1st, so i ask myself should i mess w/ him or blow his doors off, calmly went into second, and gunned it theres goes 1.5 more cars on him, hit 3rd and get another car and im still pulling, top of third and the race is done. we go back and he asks if i was squeezing, i laugh and say no, then i asked if his decal was whp or flyhp, he answers "well it dynoed 290 but i added the drivetrain loss"
either way i would of got him if it was his whp, torq baby torq!!!

Yeah, I agree. CID probably is the most sensible thing to put on the car ... IMO. Since I got my new WS9 hood and put it on, I'm thinking I'll just do the simple ram air decals on the hood ... maybe I'll put CID decals somewhere on the car that's not too subtle or stand-outish. Anybody here got their displacement numbers on your car? If so, can you please post pics? And , did you go with 347 CID or maybe rounded up to 350 CID?

here's a dumb question but these LS1 engines are they 346 or 347 ci? I've heard both. I'm starting to like the idea a little more, debating it and RWHP to go on the hood.

I had 645HP decals on my SS hood, the car made 570 to the ground so I dont think I was inflating anything. I do see a lot of people with nothing more than bolt ons and 400HP/425HP decals. I think the way the SS hood is designed it begs for something on the side of the scoop.

Here is a picture of the old SS hood...

Not a dumb question at all. 346 CID is the stick motor displacement. When mine was forged and built, it became a 347 because the cylinders had to honed/bored, which slighty changed the bore size.

So, are you thinkin' of putting CID decals on yours?
