Default Knowing about the Warhawk Aluminum, and heads

I am looking into the Warhawk Aluminum by Worldcastings "Warhawk LS7X Aluminum Prepped Block Deck 9.800" Bore 4.125" Mains 2.559" Billet Steel Cross Bolted " and the Warhawk LS7X Aluminum. I was wondering if anybody knows if this will bolt into a 2000 T/A w/ the LS1? Anybody own this block and head, Reviews?

Also, it will fit. Your block dimensions are not changing.

How about header fitment issues with the 9.800 deck?

That will be an issue I imagine...

Also, there is currently only 1 Warhawk block thats around and running as far as I know.

ETP just built one, with their canted valve heads.

You may want to do a little research, and browse through a couple old posts using the search feature. This is a very new product, with lots of potential.
It also costs big $$$.

I'm hoping to take over someones slot on a Warhawk, but its a 9.800", my builder told me it'll have a fitment issue. If its too much of a pain I won't do and I'll just stay with the LS7 build.

What will it take $$$-wise to have custom headers built?

well the block is like $3500-5000, and the bare heads that go along w/ it are about $750 a pair, i think.

I'm talking about how much a custom set of long tube headers would cost?

KOOKs will definately do it. The question is, what's going to work the best? We know 1 3/4 are the way to go for stock cube motors. 1 7/8 are the way to go for big H/C cars. 1 7/8" stepped to 2" can be used there as well, but that's the way to go for big cube motors. Problem being you'd need a K member to use them. And possibly a little clearing here or there...basically wherever it's needed.

Say you figure apon the 1 7/8" stepped to 2" design. Now they have to be custom fitted for the tall deck Warhawk setup. I'd say you're looking at a little under $2K. You'd have to call them for sure.

They are one of, if not the best out there. But we don't call them KROOKS here on the east coast for no reason

The other option, would be to have a talented local shop do a set for you. That wouldn't be my choice. But it all depends upon where you live, and what kind of experience the guys in your area have.

9.800 block prepped is like $47XX. Plus the Cam retainer plate, head studs, a couple gaskets and other things off the top of my head. Something like $5-$600 bucks worth of needed items.

Heads bare are $7XX a PIECE I'm pretty sure. Assembled, somewhere in the area of $13XX a piece.

If that's the case, maybe we'll see a shelf design soon. New products=new products.

Does Speed,

Just to be clear here-your friend does NOT have World LS7X heads on his car. You imply that he does.
No one has them yet.

Yeah I was kinda confused by that post too. Whatever heads they are, they're cathedral port heads.

The tall deck will also have intake fitment issues as well. When you increase the height of the deck, it moves the intake bolt holes farther aparts. I'm sure some sort of adapter will come into play for this.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. This is going to be a good year, no questions about that!

Yeah I saw plastic/nylon spacers the ETP setup if I remember correctly. But that was also a custom intake they built.

World is supposedly coming out with their own intake, to fit their LS7X heads.
