SHIRL,

Thanks for the update and great to hear that your 433 cid motor is holding up strong on the road race circuit and taking prisoners! How many miles would you say that this bad boy engine has on it now!

Miles don't really compute on a road race car, but I'd say that I have at least 1000 miles of WOT on it now... The car is not street driven.

Question: The whole purpose of the 433 4.1 x 4.1 is to have big cubes for a low cost?
If the crank costs the same, how much are we saving here after buying a 4.06 block and paying to bore to 4.1. If a LS7 4.125 block is ready for pistons at under $2400, how much do you have in a block bored to 4.1.

Probably $1K total if you know your machinist and get a hookup on the block

LS7 block is cheaper than $2400 BTW.

I would call MATT or one of the other big LS parts guys at (Scoggin Dickey Performance Center (SDPC) as they always have competive pricing and probably can offer you a discount being a forum member, etc.

Bringing this one back from the dead. Just wondering how long this engine survive. Were there any issues that came up later on?

I'd like to know also. I never thought a L92 could be bored to 4.1" and be reliable.

This combo was very successful. No sleeve problems. I would not go more than 4.1 stroke due to the short sleeves in the stock block. I have taken the LS2 to +.030 and the LS3/L92 to +.035 with no issues.

That's amazing that it would survive, especially under the stresses of racing. I've been looking at doing a 4" stroke instead.

Any advise you'd like to give someone looking to undergo this mod?

How many seasons did this motor last?

Did the piston skirts look worn upon tear down and then not reuseable?

What RPMs would this combo be spun to?

This engine (418) fell victim to oil starvation due to high side 'g' loading on the road coarse. It is what shifted me to dry sump oiling for road race engines. I still have the pistons which I am using on a .030 over 6L aluminum Gen IV truck block for a Bonneville 'C' motor (4.030 x 3.622 w/ 6.365 K1 rods, WCCH LS3 heads = 370 cid, waiting to be balanced). The skirts look like new and are right on spec...

Did you ever dyno the motor? Any guess on how much it made?

I would like to re-resurrect this as I have an L92 @ 4.100" bore, can you name off any company offering shelf 4.095 pistons? I know I'm most likely going to need to call Diamond or JE but I figured it was worth a shot to ask. Thanks
