Default who built your 408?

For those of you that got a 408 from a performance company, I was wondering who you got it from? Has anyone had theirs build by ARD out of Texas? Advance Racing Dynamics is the name I believe. Thanks

I have never heard of them and with the 408s being battle tested with great results by several great tuners who offer them at a very decent price such as LME, HPE, Wheel2Wheel, I would not be experimenting but would go with a proven product.
Call BRIAN at LME/Late Model Engines, out of Houston, TX, and a forum tuner here (he usually always answers the phone) and he will get you hooked up on a killer 408 motor at a GREAT PRICE.

Alan @ FMS built my last 408. Ive talked to Brian @ LME too. Great guy. I would not hesitate to have either build one.

Brian over at LME is a great recommendation. I was torn between TSP and LME and could have flipped a coin to decide. I feel that comfortable with both, you can not go wrong. Either way I would go with one of our site sponsors, better customer service and real references with proven performance over and over. Some things are worth the extra couple of hundred dollars. Just my .02

I know Owen over there he is a very knowledgeable, a little on the weird side, but with that said that is the one motor they specialize in and I have never seen one put down bad numbers. I know he is REAL into coating everything Bearings, Rods etc... Would I have him build one for me? I don't know I can only tell you what I do and that is the one's that I witnessed on the dyno all made over 500 at the wheels. I am sure you will be good with the decision you make.

HPE out of houston built mine, Erik Koneig built it and is in many people opinions (including mine) one of the best engine builders PERIOD.... set me back 4k for a full assembled shortblock.

Mine was FFHP but knowing what I know now and all the headaches I would have spent the extra $$$$ and had someone like Wheel to Wheel, SpeedInc, Texas Speed, LME, etc build it... A bigger company verse some small shop that might not be open the next day and take yours and peoples money.

Erik Koneig is building my new 408 for me right now. wouldn`t go anywhere else. LME did my first 408 build. If you give Erik a call you will understand why I went with him. Ask around about him. He is the best Period! Already acouple of people in the thread feel the same! Call him!

Thumbs up

LME is building this Yankee his engine!
The guy who's actually putting the long block together (John from J&T's in Long Island) had nothing but good things to say about them and judging by the posts on this forum they don't seem to have any issues.

TRT is putting my combo together. Erik Koenig will be building mine shortly...... based on the feedback and what knowledge he has shared.... I am confident I made the right choice...... Of course TRT will be selling and installing it.

Texas Speed built my all stroke 395 LS1 that lots of people told me would'nt hold together because of the long stroke small bore but hey its almost 4 years old and countless 7k shifts and still going. They will be building my next big motor and soon.

LME or HKE are the only ones i woudl consider that are sponsors here on this site. Hans Feustel would be my top choice but he's not a sponsor here.
