Default L92 Heads (on an LS2) with a cam

I'm thinking seriously of going with the L92 heads (and intake) setup for my GTO

I already have a decent cam (226/226 591/591 on 112lsa)

will this cause clearance issues?
what about if I mill the heads enough to get 10.5:1 compression?
will the valve springs in the heads support my cam?

thanks guys...

Hmmm considering GMHP threw a 232/236 .600/.600 cam into a LS2 shortblock with the L92 heads and didn't have PVT I'ld say your going to be okay with a 226/226 .591/.591.
Now the stock springs for the L92's are not LS2/Ls6 springs (.575" lift capable) but are LS1 springs (probably .525 to .550" lift capable). I would suggest a comp 918 upgrade at the least.

Now shaving the heads to increase the compression could cause a pvt issue.

I really don't see that cam pulling the potential out of the L92 heads. Then again with that exhaust system you have almost zero restrictions so it might work out.

Oh and GMHP finally put online the comparison http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ine_l92_heads/
I wonder how many folks have read that and ordered up that component setup just to hit 450 to 475rwhp???

stock Lq4 is 9.5 so putting a l92 head on a 317 motor wouldnt raise it much at all. stock is 72cc and a L92 is 68.9 so maybe 9.7
