Default Whats the Safe Max bore on a L92

Im thinking of getting a new bare L92 block and putting in my 4.100" crank and 6.125" rods and boreing it to 4.080" if safe!!! and make me a 429cid. Right now i have a LS2 418cid 4.100" crank and 6.125" rods & 4.30" bore. What is thw max bore on these blocks.

4.8 would be sweet but I bet you meant 4.08
Someone here as went 4.1 with before and after sonic testing of course. If I had to guess, each block is a little diffrent and would need to be tested but 4.08 definitly seems possible.

I really believe that the gains from 11 additional cubic inches would not be worth the effort and expense. Do you have any other particular reason to want to go to 429 CID other than it sounds cool?

Your buddy Shirl is going 4.100"x4.100" after sonic testing. I wouldn't do it, but whatever. Personally it wouldn't be worth the $2g's if you could get it done for that. Even if you made it to 1.5 hp per cubic inch, you'd only be getting 16 hp.

TSP machines the block to 4.080" as part of their 418cid package with a 4" stroke.

most lsx engines run 1.5 hp/ci with a big cam. that's not too tough. i say do it, as long as NO power adders are involved that is.

He could bump up 25hp on his jets and achieve more for $5.
