Default Grand Am Cup Cam & L92

Has anyone ran it? I like the wide seperation on it. I think the low lift would be nice and easy on valve springs with a .570 lift. Anyone have any experience with it, or idle/driving videos of it?

How well would it work with the L92 heads?

TIA!

You got it!

My current cam is a 244/250 -.596/.596 - 112lsa. It'd be easier to swap it now for something better though before it gets in the vette.

444/406.
But, Dynotech Engineering put it on the rollers after an Exedy twin disk install. According to Exedy that was a big no-no and the clutch began vibrating shortly after. Should have put down more??

Here's the graph:

Why are you using the L92s...why not the LS7? Aren't the L92s for a 6.0 liter bore??

big split in duration could be an interesting study..I would think it would be a little light on lift but like you said easy on the valve springs. I would go with more lift to grab the extra potential out of the heads but in any case would be a very interesting combo. If you go that route please post u dyno info. Nice find.

Ya'll gotta do a little more research on that cam before you call it easy on valvesprings. It can easily turn 921's into butter without too much run time abused really hard.

L92s are 6.2 and in this case the tuner Wegner, said he ported the L92s to outflow the LS7s on the ex side. We are using the Busch series valve springs that they use. The ones going on the LS7 are not milled but mine going on 402 are milled .040 and using different springs due to taller cam.

Thanks! I guess they opened the chamber up on the set for the LS7?

No, chambers are almost stock.. The larger bore seems very happy with these heads. PTV is .120 on exhaust, more on intake. Gaskets are Fel-Pro 4.125 and all LS7 pistons, rods, crank etc with C6 oil pump and pan. L76 intake and the ported L92s.
I am bit concerned with tuning the 106 LSA but otherwise should be fairly straightforward. Should know next weekend.

Sounds like an interesting / odd combo. I'm definetly interested in what it should put down.

Bink do you have any videos of the car with the cam? Did it fit without flycutting the pistons?
