Default Will standard wiseco dish pistons work with L92 heads?

Ive got a set of wiseco k392a3 -25cc dish forged pistons for a 370" iron block...

Will L92 heads clear or will they need a special piston to clear the intake valves?

No the reliefs do not match up but you still might have enough P to V anyway. I have been cutting L92 reliefs all last night til 3am so ask me how I know!

Default Info on std. Wiseco VP's.

Fella's, Wiseco's standard valve pockets are not in the correct position for the L92 head. That being said, with the valve drops (lowest location of valve in relation to deck of head) on the older ls1 heads, we didn't need ANY valve pockets until around 228 @.050 or so. I don't know the valve drops on the L92 head though. Opposed to common thinking, it's the exhaust pocket being moved extremely toward the cylinderwall that is the biggest interference, the intakes aren't that bad except for their increased diameter.

*****I'd personally recommend that anyone thinking about a L92 head order custom pistons. Even if you start with a small cam now, you'll likely move to a bigger one later....as is the way of the LS1 The cost isn't THAT much more than shelf stocking pistons and is the only way to "do it right".

For the guys that won't, Wiseco invented new "Multifit" valve pockets on the k443 (4.125+, -23cc, 1.140 c.h) and k446 (4.125+, -18cc, 1.110) series pistons that fit the LS1,LS2,LS6,LS7,and L92 heads. More new Wiseco part numbers will be along soon using these valve pockets. They will presumably fit any other aftermarket head that used locations based on those heads as well.

On customs, for the guys that have a LS1/2/6 head now but will be upgrading to a L92 or LS7 later, there is a radial valve pocket "tightness" issue to the ring groove on 4.000 bores (that can be resolved when we model a custom piston utilizing a thin ring pack). We use it "comfortably" on 4.030+ bores. If you're building the engine and already have the l92's, just use our L92 valve pockets as they fit perfectly with less negative volume. If needed, Wiseco also made a nice L92 dome to get the compression up with the 3.622 stroke engines.

Wiseco likes to look out for our customers, hope this info helps.

Thanks, Brian Nutter-Wiseco Piston.

Yes I have the L92 Dome Brian is talking about and they are very nice as well as having P to V and the correct radial clearance for the L92.
