there is a guy on here that got 350 cfm at .6 lift out of LS7 heads, with a mild clean up and a port matched LS7 intake. no need to spend $3000 on an intake. spend a few hundred and be happy

I don't like how they named the block LSX. I like to use that term to refer to any LS series motor.

Do you have a clue? They'd work better for a larger bore because the runner is so huge, as well as a large intake valve.

have you researched heads at all? L92s would work alright, but the only benifit of spending the extra cash to get a 4.125 bore over a 4.000 is the usage of LS7 heads. anyone with a 4.125 bore or more should be running LS7 heads, period. L92 heads would work very poorly compared to LS7 heads.

since u guys seem to run the hell out of corvettes i figured u might could answer some questions for me. i just bought a 00zo6 my goal with this car is to get in the 9s in the q.mile on pump gas and with a turbo or procharger. id like to know how much hp. i would have to make and a rough estimate of how much money it would take to go this fast. what would be the best set up for me as far as cost and reliability.

Yes, I have. For a budget setup a 4.125 bore would suit the heads well. Valve shrouding would be less. Sure you can spend the money on LS7's. Why? A good porter can/will get the same or better flow results then the LS7's for less money. The builder is always faced with the head dilemma.

My head porter would rather use a stock casting head with is port work or the Trick flow units vs what other aftermarket companies offer. He can make the stock castings outperform the aftermarkets. So your saying people with a 4.125 should spend more money. If you can make the cheaper head casting run as good or better then the more expensive stuff why use the more expensive stuff? Because it gives you a good feeling about how much money you can through around??

To say they are a poor choice is weak. Research doesnt mean **** if you cant prove it yourself. Something that I can. Can you?

if you can afford a 4.125 block you can afford LS7 heads. a big bore block (4.125+)is going to cost you roughly $2000 more than just a 4.00 block.

by your same logic 243 heads would be a good choice too because they are cheap, the bigger bore would unshroud the valves more etc. only good thing about the L92 heads is that they fit on a 4.00 inch bore. if you want to you can buy LS7 as cast heads, which would still outflow L92 heads. the only reason why you want to run a bore bigger than 4.125 is so that you can get LS7 heads on the motor in the first place. its self defeating to put inferior heads on a motor in the first place. lets put L92 heads on an LS7 and expect it to produce more hp

The tell deck version is a 9.7" deck.

All LS engine family components bolt up to the LSX block.
