That alone is impressive to me..
Mod it and all bets are off for the M5 too.
Luxury and speed seem to be available in this new Pontiac sedan.
First time in a long time. IMO

With G8 you would have to replace hood and front bumper to emulate a holden.

I think the different sized flares and wheel openings from front to rear take an otherwise great looking design and ruin it. The front flare has got to be 4" or more higher on the body line than the rear, and the rear flare is much less pronounced. Same thing with the GTO. I don't want to spend 7k grafting on quarter panels that match the fronts (which I like). Someone ought to tell these jackasses that the big tires need to go on the back Plus it needs to get lowered about 4 inches, even the show car which was lowered sits 3 inches too high. Otherwise I love the idea of a DOD, L92 headed Gen4 in myDD.

uhg, to each his own, they can keep the body kits, vents, scoops and wings down under, I like the nice clean Pontiac look. Wow, when's the last time anyone said "nice clean Pontiac look"?

Nice to see you guys appreciating what us underside lads have enjoyed since 1999. (Or since 1978 in 5L v8 form if you count the previous model)
Buy lots so we can all enjoy them until 2099
It may not have the prestige of the euro cars, but the bhp per $ wins hands down.

wow. i really like the look of this car with the color, rims, hood, rotors and grille. it's very nice and i'd definitely rock it. i'm so impressed with what GM has been doing with their engine lineups recently. a 3.6L DOHC V6 w/261 hp is a great base engine and it's great to see them with a V6 that rivals the performance of even the high-end the imports. the fact that they're going to have a 362 hp V8 WITH a 6L80 behind it really pisses me off. i wish our cars came with a 6L80
GM has been releasing some impressive engines recently. i just wish they'd work on their transmissions. they seriously need to produce an automatic transmission that can hold ~450rwhp in stock form. they can't keep forcing their flagship cars to run a T56 forever since it's their only trans that can really take a beating. the 6L80 sounds nice, but it hasn't been proven yet and i fear without torque management, it's not all it's cracked up to be. i also fear it's very hard to work on and build up. time will tell. if GM starts producing a strong driveline with their awesome powertrain and nice looking new concepts, it's a recipe for success IMO. GM has always had a reputation for making a great engine, it's their drivelines that have a reputation for being trouble

The GM six speed automatic has been adapted to the high torque truck motors capable of towing etc and will handle the power.
GM had a six speed automatic running in a 505 hp Z06 and reportedly it was faster than the manual and handled the power easily.
GM's new six speed is well designed.

They did this to reduce emissions and get better fuel economy.

The G8 runs on regular gas...
thats a big plus in this market segment and easily rectified if the owner wants to retune the pcm for more power.
360hp 390lb/ft of torque is still impressive in its market segment.
