Default 6.0 block Q

I am looking to get a 6.0 short block for a motor build project. Any how the question is how do you determine a 5.3 iron short block and a 6.0 iron short block. I dont want to take the engine apart to measure anything because I am buying it off someone. Is there a casting number or something obvious to look for. I just dont want to get ripped off and end up buying a 5.3.

When you bought yuor 6.0 did you check to see if you got the LQ4 or the LQ9. A bigger cam will give you more power top end but you may lose some bottom without having a higher CR. Did you get it dyno tuned or mail order.
