Default T56 in 6.0 Iron Block?

Has anyone done it? Im wandering if the cranks are the same size as ls1s. I cant get my clutch lined up or it may just be something different about the blocks.

depends on what year 6.0L. if it had alum 317 heads then yes you just have to take the adapter off. if its an '00 and down then no it wont work you need a different crank.

The only way a 6.0 wouldn't fit would be the 99/00 motors with too LONG of a crank. If you're having issues a la too short of a crank, you'e doing something wrong.

What exactly won't go into the crank enough?

If you do have the long crank motor, you will need to change cranks, or adapt an LT1 T56 to fit.

Not for what you're wanting to do.

An LT1 T56 would have the correct spacing for your long crank motor, and wil bolt up to the block, but I'm not sure what you need as far as clutch/flywheel combination. If you can swap parts around between LS1 and LT1 clutches and flywheels, you could in theory use the LS1 clutch/flywheel with the LT1 T56 if the input shaft fits correctly. At this point swapping cranks might be your easiest route, assuming you can handle the labor portion.

I'm an automatic guy for my LSx motors, as I tend to gravitate towards straight liners, so others may be able to go into more detail on this.
